Company BMW is preparing an electric version of the X5 model, the BMW iX5, and leaked photos reveal that the most powerful variant will bring technology that has not yet been seen even in the fastest supercars. These are apparently new Michelin tires, which are not yet officially available on the market.
Pilot Sport S 6 tires, the latest generation of tires, developed especially for this model, were spotted on the test vehicle. This is also confirmed by the marking on the side indicating the BMW specific version. The dimensions further emphasize the ambitions of this SUV. The front tires are 295 mm wide, while the rear tires reach 315 mm. Michelin tires mounted on 23-inch rims. This configuration clearly indicates the high level of power and mass that the vehicle has to control.
Maybe more than 650 horsepower
According to available information, the most powerful version could bear the designation M70, instead of the previously mentioned M60. Although official performance figures have not yet been released, it is expected to exceed 650 horsepower, possibly significantly more. The new generation of models is based on Neue Klasse architecture, which enables significantly higher performance compared to current models.
In comparison, the existing M70 electric models already offer around 650 hp and more than 1,000 Nm of torque. At the same time, BMW is also developing four-motor electric drives that can exceed 1,300 HP. This opens up space for the BMW iX5 to be positioned above the current offer, without jeopardizing performance at the top of the range.

The front part is characterized by a narrowed interpretation of the BMW “kidney”, with light elements integrated into the mask. At the rear, modernized L-shaped lights are expected. The interior should feature the new Panoramic Vision iDrive X system, focused on digital display of information and improved user experience.
The premiere of the BMW iX5 is expected in the summer, as part of the 2027 range, when more details about the specifications and performance will be known. writes Auto Blog.
