New generation Apple iPhone it has the same design and almost identical dimensions as the 2021 models. The difference is so great that your old mask will not fit your new phone. That’s why it shouldn’t be too surprising that the battery capacity remained more or less the same as in the iPhone 13 model.
Since less difference, though probably not enough to have a significant impact on battery life. What’s different this year is that there are now two models with a large battery – iPhone 14 Pro Max and cheaper iPhone 14 Plus. Their batteries are slightly smaller than the iPhone 13 Pro Max battery, but again it’s a negligible difference, reports GSMArena.
|iPhone 14 Plus||4,325mAh||16.7Wh||–|
|iPhone 13 Pro||3,095mAh||12.0Wh||+3.43%|
|iPhone 14 Pro||3,200mAh||12.4Wh|
|iPhone 13 Pro Max||4,352mAh||16.8Wh||-0.42%|
|iPhone 14 Pro Max||4,323mAh||16.7Wh|
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro batteries are slightly larger, but only by a few percent. Like last year, the base model has a bigger battery than its Pro counterpart, but this year they also have different chipsets and screens.
It will be interesting to compare their battery life – Apple claims that the Plus has the best battery life of any iPhone model to date, which could be true considering that the new models come with a new chipset. What’s a little worrying is that the Pro models are advertised as phones with “all-day battery life” despite the new Always On Display feature.
As for charging, Apple hasn’t released any official information, but regulatory filings suggest that nothing has changed. 3C quotes 29W (14.5V, 2A) for one of the models, which should be practically the same as the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which is unofficially declared at 27W.
