From Hennessey comes an even more powerful Mustang Shelby GT500 called the Venom 1000, but it should not be confused with the Venom 5 hypercar because it is based on the standard Shelby GT500 model which the tuner provided a “healthy dose of extra power” and turned into a real animal.
Given the fact that most will not have the opportunity to drive a car like this, Hennessey has prepared a video showing what the Venom 1000 can actually do.
The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 leaves the factory with a 5.2-liter V8 engine with a compressor developing 760 hp and 847 Nm of torque, but Hennessey has taken its power to a new level.
As its name suggests, the Venom 1000 delivers a maximum of 1,000 hp and 1,162 Nm of torque. Interestingly, the factory compressor was retained, but the tuner made certain modifications to it, including cooling improvements, and a new intercooler was installed. Also, the fuel supply system has been improved, there is a new air / oil separator, more durable tensioners and anodized fuel supply pipes. The car can also use E85 ethanol as fuel.
