Japanese computer manufacturer Mouse Computer has introduced a new series of PCs called NextGear Clear Shift, which brings an interesting innovation to the world of desktop cases. Instead of classic tempered glass, the housing uses electronically tinted glass, similar to solutions already used in luxury bathrooms and modern offices.
The front and left side of the case are made in a panoramic glass design. In “transparent” mode, the user can clearly see all the components inside, including RGB lighting and neatly arranged hardware.
Transparent or fogged case with one click
With one press of the button, the glass switches to the blurred mode, because then the interior is visually “hidden”, while only subdued RGB lighting remains visible through the glass, which creates the effect of discreet ambient lighting and the so-called “stealth” look.
Unfortunately, the NextGear Clear Shift is not sold as a separate case, but only as a complete, ready-made computer. Customers can choose configurations with processors from Ryzen 5 5400 to Ryzen 7 7700, while graphics cards are available ranging from NVIDIA RTX 3050 to RTX 5070, as well as AMD Radeon 9060 and 9060 XT.
Prices in Japan start at around €900, while the most powerful configurations reach €1,500. The innovative solution shows that even PC cases can still offer something really new and visually different, reports HeyUp.
