Single-charge ranges for Corsa-e and Mokka-e in the WLTP cycle are increased to 359 and 338 km, respectively, by optimizing the heat pump, gearbox and tires
Opel boasted that efforts to develop their electric models, the Opel Corsa-e and Opel Mokka-e, have resulted in an increase in driving range with a single charge of both models. It manifests itself only in the official cycle of the Globally Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), but also in the real world.

With a single battery charge, the award-winning Opel Corsa-e, introduced in 2019, can now cover up to 359 kilometers according to the WLTP, an increase of around 7%. The range of the Mokka-e, which went on sale in 2020 and recently received the famous “Golden Steering Wheel 2021” award, has been increased to 338 km (WLTP).
A few improvements
Range increases have been achieved, for example, by optimizing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, as well as the drive systems of these models.
The efficiency of the heat pump, which heats and cools the interior and is standard on both models, is now even higher than before. Heat pumps are more efficient than conventional air conditioning systems (HVAC) because they require less battery power, which extends the driving range. Users should notice these improvements especially when driving in the winter months – when the range of electric cars is generally smaller.

Additional contributions to the increase in range have been made thanks to the new transmission reducer and the 16-inch (Corsa-e) and 17-inch (Mokka-e) class A + tires.
Opel Corsa-e and Opel Mokka-e are part of the rich tradition of the German manufacturer’s comprehensive EV. Opel already has nine lines of electric vehicles on the market light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and passenger cars. The entire range of this brand will be fully electrified by 2024. From 2028, Opel will focus entirely on battery-powered electric vehicles in Europe.
