The Galaxy S26 function also comes to older Samsung phones

With the arrival of the last S series, the new Galaxy S26 document scanning function has arrived. Company Samsung confirmed that it will soon arrive on certain older models through the upgrade to One UI 8.5.

It’s about function Document Scanwhich brings a practical improvement in everyday camera use. Until now, when users took photos of multiple pages of a document, each image was saved separately. The new option allows all photos to be automatically combined into one PDF file, which greatly simplifies saving and sharing documents.

In addition, Samsung has also improved access to this function. Users can now add a Document Scan shortcut directly to the home screen. This starts the scan faster, without the need for additional steps through the camera menu. The option is activated through the camera settings, in the section Scan > Document Scanwhere it is possible to include the display in the list of applications.

Which devices will the Galaxy S26 feature come to?

According to the available information, Document Scan will be available on the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Edge, as well as on the flexible devices Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, after the stable version of the One UI 8.5 interface is released for them.

Although there are more devices that will receive this version of the system, it is not yet confirmed whether all of them will also support the new document scanning feature.

With this move, Samsung further improves the practical capabilities of the camera. The company focuses on functions that have a direct application in everyday work, instead of exclusively on classic photographic improvements. This Galaxy S26 feature probably won’t be the last to make its way to older models. We’ll see what’s next, writes GSMArena.
