The winners and winners of The Game Awards 2025 are known. There are fewer of them than in previous years, because one game won almost everything that could be won.
For the eleventh year in a row, The Game Awards statuettes were awarded for the best games in the last year. The ceremony went as expected and there weren’t really any surprises, primarily due to the RPG being a hit Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 picked up awards in 9/10 categories in which he was nominated, including the main award for game of the year.
In addition to setting the record for the most nominations for The Game Awards, that game has now also set the record for the most awards, becoming the most awarded game in The Game Awards history. The records were previously held by The Last of Us Part II (7 awards) and Baldur’s Gate 3 (8 awards).
With this dominance of one game, many candidates remained without a single victory. Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Split Fiction did not receive any awards. The fact that no other game won more than one award at The Game Awards 2025 speaks of the French’s total dominance, which I guess has never happened before.
