Honor is reportedly working on a new smartphone labeled “Pro Max,” which would add an additional premium model to its lineup. According to information from the Chinese social network Weibo, more and more manufacturers are turning to this designation instead of the previous “Ultra” branding.
Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station claims that brands like OPPO, vivo and Honor are planning to introduce special “Pro Max” versions of their phones. This move is interpreted as a response to the market trend, where the name “Pro Max” becomes a symbol of the strongest and most expensive model in the series.
“Pro Max” is becoming a new trend among manufacturers
Apple first popularized this name with the iPhone 11 Pro Max model, and the line continued with all subsequent generations. Last year, Xiaomi further fueled the trend by introducing the 17 series, skipping the numbering to match Apple’s iPhone 17 models. In addition to the name, Xiaomi also adopted a similar appearance of the camera module.
Not long after, Huawei also entered the “Pro Max” category by introducing the Mate 80 Pro Max model, which despite its limited availability attracted a lot of attention from customers. This success could be the reason why other manufacturers want to join this race.
For now, Honor is focused on preparations for the launch of the Magic 8 Pro Air and Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design models, but sources say that information about the Honor Pro Max phone could appear in the near future, reports HC Newsroom.
