Rimac Technology, a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry, has announced leadership changes as it prepares for the next phase of its business. Nurdin Pitarevicformer chief operating officer, was appointed chief executive officer (CEO), doc Marko Brkljačićpreviously Deputy Chief Operating Officer, takes over the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Mate Rimacthe founder of Rimac Technology and former CEO, will continue to support the business through the role of president of the Rimac Group, with a focus on Bugatti Rimac, where he holds the position of CEO. “During his tenure as Chief Operating Officer, Nurdin has proven himself to be an exceptional leader, combining deep operational knowledge with clear strategic thinking and a strong sense of people and organizational culture. I confidently believe that Nurdin will successfully lead Rimac Technology through the next phase of growth and continue to build a world-class Tier 1 organization,” said Mate Rimac.
The leadership changes follow a year in which Rimac Technology delivered thousands of battery and drive systems to partners, along with new projects for automakers. “Nurdin and Marko played a key role in the transition of Rimac Technology from a high-performance niche supplier to a reliable Tier 1 partner. They showed that advanced technology, industrial discipline and entrepreneurial speed can coexist on a large scale,” added Rimac.
Scalability and long-term value
Since joining Rimac Technology from a European Tier 1 supplier, Pitarevic has managed the company through a period of industrialization and operational growth. Under his leadership, the company realized several series projects and delivered battery and drive systems to the global market while meeting the standards of the automotive industry.
“Assuming the role of chief executive for me means a step forward from an operational role towards shaping the company’s long-term direction. Our focus is on building a technological leader that grows responsibly, combining innovation, digitalization, sustainability, strong organizational foundations and sustainable profitability. With new series production projects and a strong development portfolio ahead of us, now is the right time to accelerate our growth,” said Nurdin Pitarević.

As chief executive officer, Pitarevic will lead the development strategy until 2030, with an emphasis on electrification technologies, projects supported by artificial intelligence and digitalization, and the expansion of production capacities. This includes the development of battery technology with a solid electrolyte (solid-state) in cooperation with a technology partner.
Focus on operational excellence and continuity
Marko Brkljačić comes to the position of Chief Operating Officer with experience in operations and digital transformation. Prior to his appointment, he held the position of deputy chief operating officer of Rimac Technology, and previously held managerial positions at Tokić and Rimac Automobili.
“Rimac Technology is entering the next phase of strong growth in which operational excellence, delivery reliability and production scaling become key priorities. We are focused on strengthening systems, processes and teams that will enable stable volume growth, top quality and long-term competitiveness,” said Marko Brkljačić.
As part of these changes, Rimac Technology establishes a new Management Board consisting of Nurdin Pitarević (CEO), Marko Brkljačić (COO) and Peter BednarikChief Financial Officer (CFO). The establishment of the Management Board is aimed at professionalizing the management model and making strategic decisions more effectively. The new Management will be focused on business growth, operational excellence and financial stability.
Plans for 2026
Rimac Kampus, the headquarters of the Rimac Group, works in multi-shift work, and in the next two years, the introduction of five new production lines and additional employment is planned. Rimac Technology is in negotiations with several manufacturers regarding new projects for electric and hybrid propulsion systems.
The company applies solutions in the field of electrification and industrial performance, which was previously applied to the Nevera and Bugatti Tourbillon models. In addition to the announced partnerships with BMW Group and Ceer Motors, there are several medium- and large-scale projects in the contracting or development phase.
