SEVEN SERIES FOR 2026 (and some new seasons…)

Choosing a few upcoming series is not easy – the probable sale of “Warner” (including “HBO Max”) to “Netflix” continues to be the main topic when it comes to movies and series. “Netflix” will further strengthen its already strong and powerful position on the market – how the entire “Netflix” story will look like in a few months or a year is difficult to predict, but there are several series coming next year – some of them still carry the HBO Max label, which will probably change soon, but at the time of writing these lines, they are still part of the former (?) film-series giant. However, there are other streaming services that will not change owners…

HIS STORY, HER STORY (Netflix, 8.1.2026)

The series with the original title “His and Hers” was inspired by Alice Feeney’s book. In the center of the story is the detective Jack Harper who becomes the subject of the investigation Anne, who is not a police officer, but is an amateur investigating the shocking murder of which she suspects….Detective Harper. “His Story, Her Story” has six episodes – the cast is led by Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal. Thriller – a series that could become a hit at the beginning of 2026…

KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS (HBO Max – 18.01)

The dragon’s house she passed the test with many (most?) fans of the series Game of Thrones. The new series behind the world of “Game of Thrones” is “Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”. The plot of the series is based on the literary template of George RR Martin with the original title “Tales of Dunk and Egg”. BLADE RUNNER 2099 (Amazon Prime Video)

Yes, yes…dear reader and/or dear reader is the word for the Blade Runner series, which takes place fifty years after the film Blade Runner 2049. The plot of the series follows Cora (she has the ability to change identities) and a replicant named Olwen. Their chance encounter leads to the discovery of a conspiracy that threatens to destroy the Los Angeles of the future. The authors of the series are Silka Luisa and Tom Spezialy, the cast of the six-episode series is led by Michelle Yeoh, Wil Coban, Tom Burke, Hunter Schafer and Lewis Gribben.

Y: MARSHALS (Paramount Plus/CBS)

The biggest reason to watch the series “Y: Marshals” is Taylor Sheridan signed on as one of the authors. Sheridan has been on a string in recent years more popular and intriguing series (The King of Tulsa, Landman, 1883 – 1923…) – “Y: Marhals” is a spin-off of perhaps the author’s most famous series Yellowstone. The plot follows a former military special officer who becomes part of a unit tasked with maintaining order in Montana. The cast of the series is led by Luke Grimes, Logan Marshall-Green, Gil Birmingham and Ariel Kebbel. The premiere of the series was announced for March 1, 2026. year.

CRYSTAL LAKE (Peacock)

The series that is a sort of prequel to one of the most popular slasher horror films, “Friday the 13th”. Set before the events of the first film, Jason Voorhees is a boy and the son of a caring mother Pamela – the plot begins with the murders at Camp Crystal Lake. The opening season has eight episodes, the exact premiere date has not been announced – the main actors of the film are Danielle Kotch, Linda Cardellini, Callum Wilson, Brian J. Carter and William Catlett.

Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials – (Netflix)

A three-part mini-series based on Agatha Christie’s novel. The plot of the series takes us back to 1925 – a village party ends in a murder – an investigation begins and soon it is revealed that the murder is part of a larger conspiracy. “Secret of Seven Hours” is, above all, ideal for fans of crime stories – the cast is led by Martin Freeman and Helena Bonham Carter.

CARRIE (Amazon Prime Video)

Perhaps the new version of the story of Carrie based on Stephen King’s literary template would not have been mentioned so much if Mike Flanagan had not been signed as the author. In recent years, Flanagan has produced several horror series (“Midnight mass, The Curse of the Bly Estate, The Haunting of Hill HouseThe Fall of the House of Usher…) – continues next year with a new eight-episode series about….Carrie White. According to available information, the action of the series takes place years before the events of the film and follows growing up youthful Carrie (played by Summer H. Howell). Carrie’s mother is Samantha Sloyan – the series also stars Heather Graham, Katee Sackhoff, Matthew Lillard and Amber Midhunter.
