Turk Toprak Razgatlioglu is the world champion in Superbike

Turkish Toprak Razgatlioglu is the new world champion in superbike. By winning second and fourth place in the last two races of the season in Indonesia, the 25-year-old from Alanya grabbed the first title, surpassing the Briton Jonathan Rea, who did not win the seventh consecutive championship crown on Sunday!

By the way, due to heavy rainfall on the track “Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit”, Saturday’s race was canceled, so the plan of the organizers was that all three races on the weekend run on Sunday. However, in the end, “only” two were driven, which brought a new world champion.

In the first race, Jonathan Rea triumphed in front of Razgatlioglu and Reding, while in the second he celebrated Rea again, this time in front of Scott Redding and the Dutchman Van der Mark, while the Turk was fourth, aware that this position also brings him the title.

Razgatlioglu achieved the greatest success in his career with 546 points and a total of 13 victories in 37 races. Second-placed Rea collected 551 points (also 13 victories), and third-placed Briton Scott Redding collected 501 points (7 victories).

In fourth place in the World Championship is Italian Andrea Locatelli with 291 points, fifth is his compatriot Ruben Rinaldi with 282 points, and sixth-placed Dutchman Michael van der Mark with 262 points. Seventh-placed American is Garrett Gerloff with 228 points, while eighth-placed is legendary Englishman Sam Lowe with 213 points, with a lot of missed races at the end of the season.

In the constructors’ competition, Yamaha celebrated with 607 points. Second-placed Ducati collected 13 points less – 594, and third-placed Kawasaki 570.
