The game designer and head of Bethesda Studios says he loves his job and doesn’t think about retiring.
Yesterday, Bethesda Games presented their work plan with the projects they will surely work on in the next ten years. And the main link in all this will continue to be Bethesda brain and leader Todd Howard.
Namely, in a recent interview, Howard stated that he once thought about retirement, but that he is no longer interested in it. In other words, he will continue to be primarily responsible for the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises.
“I just love my job and I love working with the people on the team. That’s why I’m not thinking about retirement. Some of the creators in the gaming industry are even older than me and they’re still doing great things. So it’s not something I’m thinking about at all.” – says 55-year-old Howard.
It is not known if he is thinking about returning to his chess club.
Howard has been employed at Bethesda for over 30 years. During this period he worked on games that attracted millions of players. Just yesterday, the latest sales results were released saying that Skyrim has sold 65 million copies, Fallout 4 is at 35 million copies, and Starfield managed to attract 17 million players through a combination of sales and subscription availability.
