Galaxy S26 series and special Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy

During the night, Samsung officially presented the new Galaxy S26 series, which consists of the following models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The strongest model for the first time uses a specially adapted Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, developed in close cooperation between Samsung and Qualcomm.

Compared to the standard version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, the for Galaxy variant brings an additional customized architecture and higher operating frequencies.

The chip has two ultra-large cores clocked at up to 4.74 GHz and six large cores at 3.63 GHz, which makes the ultra-core reach the highest clock speed ever seen in the Android world, compared to 4.6 GHz for the standard version.

Thanks to the large L3 cache with a capacity of 32 MB, the efficiency of data access is, according to the manufacturer, increased by about 40%, which significantly reduces the drop in performance during long-term load. Samsung also states that the NPU is faster by approximately 39%, while graphics performance is improved by approximately 24%, and CPU performance by approximately 19%.

In order to maintain this level of power continuously, the Galaxy S26 series also gets a completely new cooling solution with a significantly larger steam chamber, intended for stable operation at high loads.
