Meccha Chameleon is now the best selling game of 2026 (of those released)

The developer of the hit game Meccha Chameleon boasted that it has sold as many as 15 million copies so far.

Who would have thought that the best-selling game in the first half of 2026 would be a hide-and-seek game Meccha Chameleon? No one, and probably not even an independent Japanese developer (or developer?) under the nickname, hoped for such a result. lemorion_1224.

Meccha Chameleon was sold in less than a month after its launch more than 15 million copies on Steam, the only platform where the game is currently available. GTA 6 has probably already sold even more than that, but that game hasn’t been released yet and no official preorder stats have been revealed.

As we wrote before, Meccha Chameleon is a multiplayer title in which players hide and try to blend in as well as possible with the environment., painting themselves to be invisible to players looking for them. The game was popularized by streamers from the start, and the low price of 6 euros resulted in the game being among the ten most active titles on Steam for weeks.
