Bugatti opened a new plant in Molsheim for the production of the Tourbillon model

On July 2, the French-Croatian automobile company Bugatti officially opened its new, modern production facility called “La Manufacture” at the brand’s historic headquarters in Molsheim, France. This new world-class atelier is intended for the future production of the upcoming Tourbillon model, which is already being developed at the Rimac Campus near Zagreb.

Capacity expansion

The construction of the new facility, which covers 3,245 square meters within the historic property of the Château Saint Jean, was completed in less than a year. The plant is 135 meters long, 25 meters wide and 8.7 meters high, and it is architecturally designed so that its low and spacious form naturally fits into the landscape.

The main goal of the new plant is to support the growth of the brand and increase the total production capacity to up to 200 vehicles per year. A larger workspace and an intelligent arrangement of rooms inside the “La Manufacture” facility will enable the most technically demanding phases of vehicle assembly to be performed. In the new space, Bugatti’s teams will conduct exterior and interior pre-assembly phases, final quality checks, vehicle inspections and highly specialized finishing processes such as polishing and varnishing. Concentrating these demanding steps in the new facility creates a significantly more efficient and capable production flow for the coming Tourbillon era.

Commitment to the French region

Executive Director Mate Rimac he pointed out that Molsheim is the center to which Bugatti gravitates and that every decision starts with respect for the people there and the heritage built for more than a century. He added that they wanted to provide the teams with a state-of-the-art facility to shape the new era, while ensuring that the soul of the brand remains in Alsace. The project also received institutional support through a video message from Sébastien Martin, the French Minister Delegate for Industry, who emphasized the broader significance of this project for French industry.

President of the company Christophe Piochon he recalled that since the revival of the brand with the Veyron model in 2005, more than 1,100 vehicles have been delivered to customers around the world. According to him, the opening of the “La Manufacture” plant represents a key moment in Bugatti’s expansion strategy, contributing to Alsace’s economic vitality and international reputation.
