BYD presented eight new models and technological innovations at Goodwood

This year’s Festival of Speed in Goodwood was marked, among other things, by the spectacular performance of the BYD Group, which prepared a rich program for the media, partners and visitors. At the prestigious Goodwood House estate, the Chinese manufacturer exhibited as many as eight new models, arranged in the First Glance and Supercar Paddock zones. The entire presentation was rounded off by a record-breaking exhibition space that attracted exceptional interest from the public.

DENZA Z

Among the trump cards on display, the Z line, a premium brand of DENZA, whose design he signs, attracted the most attention Wolfgang Egger. The elegant Coupe and Racing versions, along with the previously presented Spider from this year’s Beijing Motor Show, demonstrated impressive technical specifications. The drive of that model with three electric motors develops a power of 1,604 HP and 1,240 Nm of torque, enabling the Coupe to accelerate to 100 km/h in 2.25 seconds, while the more radical Racing with advanced aerodynamics reaches the same speed in just 1.96 seconds, with a maximum speed of 300 km/h.

Fast charging solutions

In addition to extreme performance, DENZA also demonstrated the revolutionary FLASH Charging technology, which was recently shown in Zagreb, live at its exhibition area. Through the presentations of the DENZA Z Racing model and the Z9GT shooting brake, visitors were convinced of its effectiveness. The system enables charging the battery from 10% to 70% in just five minutes, while at extremely low temperatures of -30 °C, charging from 20% to 97% takes only 12 minutes.

Outside the paved tracks, visitors could follow dynamic presentations of more robust models. The SUV DENZA BAO 5 with a DMO powertrain of 544 hp made its European debut, and the BYD SHARK pick-up kept it company on the demanding off-road training ground. At the same time, in the segment of more compact vehicles, the plug-in hybrid DOLPHIN G DMi in Sunset orange color stood out, offering a range of up to 1,040 kilometers with one charge and a full tank.

Hypercars and luxury novelties

Luxury sub-brand YANGWANG showed three exceptional models at Goodwood, led by the YANGWANG U9 Xtreme hypercar. This model with more than 3,000 hp holds the official world record for production vehicles from September 2025, with an achieved speed of 496.22 km/h. Thanks to the advanced DiSus-X body control system, this extreme racing car easily mastered the demanding and narrow 1.86-kilometer hill track.

The offer of the YANGWANG brand was completed by the technologically advanced SUV U8L and the luxury sedan U7. Although visitors were denied a demonstration of the deep water navigation system of the U8L due to dry weather, the attention was drawn to the U7 sedan. That car arrived at Goodwood driving direct from China, using the innovative DiSus-Z active suspension that converts kinetic energy from bumps into electricity and returns it to the battery, ensuring exceptional comfort throughout the intercontinental journey.
