Since the Internet today is littered with a large amount of AI-generated content, Andreas MindtVolkswagen’s head of design, has drawn the public’s attention to the real talent in the world of automotive design. Mindt highlighted the work of Volkswagen’s design trainee on his Instagram profile Fabiana Reitza which shows – a striking sports car with Volkswagen markings and the “official” name ID.DIN T14.
According to Mindt, this project represents a detailed investigation of how precision, structure and functionality can serve as a starting point for the development of a distinctive automotive design studio. Reitz’s work brings a fresh perspective and stands out among the usual design proposals on digital platforms, he said.
Bold sports concept
Although by definition it is a design study that is not intended for serial production, the ID.DIN T14 attracts attention with its specific proportions and the style of a sleek hypercar. Viewed from the profile, the concept can visually resemble the aesthetics of a Bentley, while in certain lines it also shows similarities with the Chrysler 300, equipped with advanced chassis aerodynamics solutions.
Although the exact purpose of this vehicle is not fully defined, the aesthetics of the concept are also associated with modern interpretations of the iconic Batmobile. In his work, therefore, Reitz connected several recognizable design elements into a completely new whole, creating a unique visual identity.
A combination of different styles
The design of the vehicle integrates a curved windshield in the style of a helmet visor, a solution taken from modern Le Mans Hypercar racing cars. On the other hand, the narrow body with accentuated wide fenders recalls the style of Aston Martin, while the rear part of the vehicle is characterized by racing brutalism.
The front part of the ID.DIN T14 model is sculpturally shaped, with a long hood and a wide circular arch. This form is combined with minimalist LED lights. The front part painted in black, we have to admit, is somewhat reminiscent of the design of the first iPhone, which had a plastic cover for the antennas in its lower rear part, which stood out visually from the rest of the silver metal case.
