Skoda announces the Peaq as a spacious SUV without compromise in design

The fully electric SUV Peaq will soon become the largest model in Škoda’s range, and as the premiere date approaches, new details are arriving from the company – this time they revolve around dimensions and spaciousness. With a length that exceeds the Enyaq model by almost 22 centimeters and is 12 centimeters longer than the Kodiaq SUV, the Peaq is designed to offer maximum space utilization. Thanks to these dimensions, the vehicle will be able to accommodate up to seven passengers, which directly positions it as a solution for large families and users with a need for a large cargo capacity.

Maximum use of space

Škoda’s engineers used the full potential of the MEB platform, with the wheelbase of the Peaq model being over 17 centimeters longer than the Kodiaq. In addition to the length, the car also gained in height, exceeding the Enyaq by 4 centimeters. Their goal, they say, was to create one of the most spacious vehicles in the segment, which was achieved by a specific layout of the interior architecture and optimization of the front and rear overhangs of the body.

The key to comfort in the cabin lies in the strategic positioning of elements. The front seats have been placed higher and moved closer to the steering wheel, which freed up considerable space for passengers in the second and third rows. The engineering teams worked closely with the exterior designers to ensure that such interior spaciousness did not detract from the vehicle’s exterior aesthetics.

The aerodynamic shape of the roof additionally contributes to the impression of elongation, which visually softens the actual height and massiveness of the car. The contrast between the accentuated side surfaces and relatively low glass surfaces creates a dynamic silhouette that makes the vehicle more harmonious.

Elegance and aerodynamics

Special attention was paid to the area around the wheel arches, where the line visually reduces the volume of the body, allowing the vehicle a more natural and stable stance on the road. Such solutions are not only aesthetic in nature, but also serve to improve aerodynamic properties, which is key to the efficiency of electric models. The Peaq thus combines the functionality of a large SUV with a modern design language that hides its actual dimensions, Skoda designers said.
