Skoda’s upcoming seven-seat electric SUV will be called the Peaq

Škoda Auto has officially announced the arrival of its new top model, an electric SUV with seven seats, which will be called the Peaq. The name is derived from the English word peak (top), whereby the manufacturer clearly signals the position of the vehicle at the very top of its range. Peaq will thus be the largest model in the range of this brand, and it is based on the Vision 7S study, which measures more than five meters in length, presented almost two years ago.

The new model will be placed on the modular platform MEB of the Volkswagen concern, the same one used by models such as the Enyaq or the VW ID.7. Within the Škoda hierarchy, the Peaq will be positioned above the current Enyaq and Kodiaq models. According to the announcements of Martin Jahn, member of the sales and marketing board, this model represents “the realization of the vision of increasing the value of the brand through spaciousness, practicality and innovative concepts”.

New design direction

The Peaq will be the first production model to fully adopt the brand’s new design language called Modern Solid. This style is characterized by minimalist forms, strong surfaces and a focus on sustainability. The production version is expected to retain key elements of the concept, such as specific T-shaped lights and a front part known as the Tech-Deck Face, which replaces the traditional radiator grille.

The interior of the vehicle will be focused on maximum use of space for seven passengers. The Vision 7S concept, which served as the basis, featured innovations such as a rotating screen infotainmenta and an integrated child seat in the center console, and the serial Peaq model should turn these ideas into solutions adapted to the daily needs of large families.

Premiere in the summer

An interesting step forward was also made in the nomenclature. While their previous electric models started with the letter E and ended with Q (like the Epiq, Enyaq and Elroq), the Peaq retains only the traditional Q ending typical of the brand’s SUV models.

The world premiere of Škoda Peaq is scheduled for the summer of 2026. Although technical details about batteries and range have not yet been fully specified, the Vision 7S concept study suggested an 89 kWh battery and a range of more than 600 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. Several shots of the new model can be seen in the attached announcement video.
