Poco F4 GT presented with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset

New generation Xiaomi subbrand, Poco The F-Series is ahead of us, with its debut Poco F4 GT model. The series returns to using the flagship chipset, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while increasing the charging speed.

The powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset is curbed by LiquidCool 3.0 technology, which is made up of two steam cooling chambers. For comparison, Poco F3 used version 1.0 of this technology. Also, the chambers are 170% larger than those inside the F3 GT.

All that power wants to be expressed and the Adreno 730 GPU (50% faster than the previous generation) will be able to do just that on a flat 6.67-inch AMOLED screen. It is a 10-bit panel (1 billion colors) with 120 Hz refresh rate and high-frequency PWM dimming. The quality of the screen was confirmed by DisplayMate, which gave it an A + rating after setting or pairing 15 screen performance records.

The display has a touch sampling rate of 480 Hz, compared to 360 Hz on the F3 and corresponds to the F3 GT model. Like the previous GT model, this one has great affinities towards the gaming segment, so it is essentially a global version of the Redmi K50 Gaming device and provides additional controls in the form of buttons on the corners of the device. They have been tested in more than 100 popular games, but can also serve as shortcuts for normal use (e.g. launching a camera).

The Poco F4 GT is the fastest charging Poco to date, with a 120W HyperCharge system. The 4,700 mAh phone’s battery can be charged to 100% in 17 minutes when you’re in a hurry, but there’s another mode that allows you to charge while you’re playing – it generates less heat, but it’s still pretty fast with 27 minutes of 0-100 %.

And here’s a nice news – Poco includes a USB-C cable at an angle, which is more comfortable to use while holding the phone horizontally, more precisely when playing or watching YouTube, for which, by the way, you get 2 months free premium subscription new device.

The F4 GT is equipped with two Sony image sensors. On the back is the IMX686, a 64 MP 1 / 1.73 “sensor (0.8 µm original pixels, 1.6 µm with binning) and located behind the f / 1.9 aperture. Here’s an 8 MP ultra wide camera 120 °, f / 2.2) and 2 MP macro cameras, in addition, there is a flicker sensor.

The other Sony sensor is a 20 MP IMX596 inside a selfie camera in the hole. By the way, the back has an RGB backlight, which is used for notifications, a battery charge indicator and (of course) something more colorful when playing games.

The Poco brand is introducing a great after-sales service, which gives F4 GT users one free screen repair during the first 6 months of ownership.

How writes GSM Arena, The Poco F4 GT will be available this Thursday (April 28th) in leading online stores in several regions. It will come in Stealth Black, Knight Silver and Cyber Yellow.

Two versions will be available – the base unit of 8/128 GB will have a retail price of around 600 euros (depending on the region), and the upgraded version of 12/256 GB will cost around 700 euros. In both cases you get fast LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1.
