The RTX 5090 Ti goes over 700 W, the gain in performance is modest

According to the latest information, Nvidia has been testing a new flagship graphics card based on the Blackwell architecture for a long time, positioned above the RTX 5090. It is expected to be called RTX 5090 Ti or possibly Titan, but the final decision on the commercial launch has not yet been made.

According to Moore’s Law is Dead, this graphics card has been in the test phase since the middle of 2025 and has 22,848 CUDA cores, which is about 5% more than the RTX 5090. However, it is still not the full configuration of the AD202 chip, which in the maximum version has 24,064 cores.

The RTX 5090 Ti targets extreme enthusiasts, not classic gamers

In order to get the most out of those cores, Nvidia has obviously drastically increased consumption. In standard mode, the TDP would range between 700 and 750 W, while prototypes with unlocked limits are said to exceed 1,000 W. Due to such a power requirement, the card is extremely massive and requires extremely serious cooling, making it impractical for most classic configurations.

Despite the huge consumption, the jump in performance is not dramatic. According to the available data, the RTX 5090 Ti offers about 10% better performance compared to the RTX 5090, while in ideal conditions this gain could be closer to 20%. This clearly indicates that the card is intended exclusively for hardcore enthusiasts and professionals who chase the absolute maximum, regardless of consumption and price.

When it comes to memory, the final specification is not yet known. A 32GB capacity would be more than enough for gaming, but it is speculated that 48GB of VRAM would make more sense for AI and professional workloads, positioning the card as a hybrid solution between gaming and serious computing.

It is worth reminding that the Titan Ada generation never reached the market, but remained at the prototype level. That’s why the Blackwell Titan or RTX 5090 Ti can only remain a technical demonstration, without a real commercial release.
