Cupra continues to renew its products. Now it’s the turn of the Born model, the twin brother of VW’s ID.3 model. They redesigned the exterior design, improved the interior and prepared better technology. Now there is a greater range of 600 kilometers, power up to 240 kW/326 HP and say LED matrix lights. Of course, the Born was designed and developed in Barcelona, and will be produced (from the second quarter) in a facility in Zwickau, Germany.

Let’s go in order. Born received a newly designed front and rear bumper, triangular LED matrix headlights and an illuminated rear logo integrated into the 3D rear lights. The improved interior includes redesigned front and rear door trims and a redesigned steering wheel with physical buttons. It is complemented by circular materials, including slats on the instrument panel made from 75% recycled materials, as well as Seaqual yarn from recycled plastic taken from the sea or 73% recycled Dinamica textile in the center of the front and rear side seats.
Furthermore, the digital focus brings a 12.9” infotainment system with a new OS powered by Android system, framed by an illuminated sliding mask and a new, larger 10.25” digital cockpit. There is also support for a head-up display with augmented reality. The sound system has also been improved. Sennheiser’s Contrabass technology enables intense bass.

The offer of powertrains has been expanded and the commercial offer has been simplified. Three engine and battery configurations are prepared. The initial one is 140 kW/58 kWh, followed by 170 kW/79 kWh while the VZ version comes with 240 kW/79 kWh. The possibility of individualization consists of 6 paint colors of the bodywork, including the new color Timanfaya gray, 5 alloy wheels between 19 and 20”, 4 interior ambiences and 4 optional packages.
Improved technology and practicality include illuminated front and rear door handles, new rear air vents, a new bike rack hook and a Mobile Device Key. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology allows the Born model to power external devices. Born has the ability to ride with one pedal, as well as Launch Control for VZ and Endurance versions. In addition, there is ESC Sport and wider 235 mm tires for 19” and 20” wheels that tighten agility, with the support of five driving profiles and up to 15 levels of adjustment of the adaptive regulation of the driving system (DCC Sport).
