The driver from Germany, who, by disobeying the ban, caused a traffic jam on the Krk Bridge, was fined (only) and the police reports that he paid the fine on the spot

During just one day. On April 1, on the A6 and A7 highways and on the state road DC 102 (Krčki most), police officers sanctioned a total of 19 drivers who did not act in accordance with the declared traffic ban for certain groups of vehicles – reported the PU of Primorje-Gorski Kotar.

The German caused a stalemate

From that group of sanctioned drivers, a 46-year-old German citizen was singled out for public reporting, who, at around 2:35 p.m. on the Krčko bridge, acted contrary to the posted traffic sign, that is, he did not respect the traffic ban for all motor vehicles towing a trailer. This caused a traffic accident with material damage and a traffic jam.

We have already reported on this event – at the time of the traffic ban on the Krčko bridge, the driver was driving a vehicle with a German registration plate, even though that group of vehicles was prohibited from passing, for a reason. It should therefore not be surprising that due to the strong gusts of the stormy wind, the trailer drifted and hit a metal fence, where the trailer remained stuck, partially hanging over the precipice.

Because of that traffic accident and the removal of the trailer, traffic on the Krc bridge was completely closed from 2:42 p.m. to 4:25 p.m. For violating the provisions of the Road Traffic Safety Act, i.e. causing a traffic accident, a 46-year-old driver from Germany was fined at the scene, the police say, without specifying whether the violator paid for the towing of his trailer with the help of heavy machinery.
