According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, the new chip that is scheduled to be unveiled on March 16 at the GTC 2026 conference in San Jose could significantly push the boundaries of what is possible today in the semiconductor world. Huang emphasized in the interview that it will be a product that will “surprise the world”, although he did not reveal specific technical details or the official name of the chip.
It is known that Nvidia has already presented a new AI line called Vera Rubin at the CES 2026 fair, with confirmation that this platform has entered the phase of mass production. It is the first Nvidia AI solution developed through a fully coordinated design, which includes Vera CPU, Rubin GPU, NVLink 6 network chip, as well as other key components for computing, networking and data storage.

Because of this, there is increasing speculation in the industry that the mysterious processor arriving at GTC 2026 will actually be a mature version of a product based on the Rubin architecture. This architecture was first hinted at in 2024 at the Computex fair, while it was officially presented during the GTC 2025 conference. Its most important feature is support for the fourth generation HBM4 memory, which brings a drastically higher memory flow compared to previous solutions.
Nvidia, in cooperation with the company SK Hynix, is working on the direct installation of HBM4 memory on the GPU logic chip. If production is successfully realized in large quantities, this process could result in one of the most complex chips ever made in the history of the semiconductor industry.
There are also alternative speculations that Nvidia may show the first prototype of the next Feynman architecture earlier than expected. However, most analysts believe that this option is unlikely and that the focus of the event will be on the Rubin platform and its practically ready solutions.
In any case, March 16 could represent one of the key dates for the future development of AI and high-performance computing operations, and Nvidia clearly has ambitions to raise the bar once again for the entire industry.
