Mediatek to launch Dimensity 8100 in March, arrives with Mali-G510 mobile GPU

Media library introduced the Dimensity 8000 platform back in December, and it is reported that TSMC will produce it using a 5nm process. The chip is almost ready to launch, and now Leakster Digital Chat Station has revealed that it will be named Dimensions 8100 when it arrives in March.

The Dimensity 8100 will have an octa-core CPU, with four Cortex-A78 cores that will run at 2.75 GHz. The GPU will be Mali-G510 developed by Arm and will now appear for the first time in any SoC.

The platform will probably arrive as a successor to the Dimensity 1100 chipset as it will be a step lower than the Dimensity 9000, Mediatek’s true flagship platform. Interestingly, this new chip was initially initially called Dimensity 7000, so hopefully this will be the last renaming before the product becomes available next month.
