Poles in the shape of pencils with erasers placed at a school in Zagreb

For years, if not decades, debates have been going on around traffic poles in Zagreb and daily political points have been scored. Some have too many, some too few, some prefer metal ones, others plastic ones… However, the bollards that recently appeared in front of the school in Volta’s neighborhood have probably caused the most positive reactions of all so far.

According to the Facebook page Mapiringa Trešnjevka (run by the Trešnjevka Cultural Center), in front of the school workshops in Voltino, near the bus turn at the end of Baštijanova, very nice “pencils with erasers” appeared instead of classic road posts. What makes it even more exciting is that a friend of the school donated them and installed them himself – so the city budget did not “suffer”, and the city got a fun and useful solution.
