Realme Neo8 arrives before the holidays, another Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 flagship

The Realme Neo series, which has become a separate line since the Neo7 model with a clear focus on gaming performance and an aggressive price, is soon getting a new member. The company has officially started announcing the Realme Neo8 model, which will debut before the Chinese New Year celebration.

According to information from announcements and early specifications, the Realme Neo8 arrives with a Samsung 1.5 K flat screen that refreshes at 165 Hz, thus positioning it as a highly gaming-oriented device. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a processor made in the third generation of TSMC 3 nm process, with special Oryon CPU cores with a frequency of up to 3.8 GHz. In synthetic tests, this SoC easily exceeds the threshold of 3 million points on the AnTuTu platform.

Neo8 brings true Snapdragon 8 to the Neo series for the first time

Along with the new chip, the Neo8 brings a metal middle frame, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the screen and certified water protection. The battery with a capacity of 8000 mAh is one of the biggest advantages, especially for users who prioritize long gaming sessions.

This is expected to be the first time that Realme will launch a device in the Neo series that uses the latest Snapdragon 8 chip. However, the price will probably be higher than its predecessor because the Neo7 started with the Dimensity 9300+ platform, while the market is currently recording a significant increase in the prices of DRAM and NAND chips. As a result, Realme Neo8 will almost certainly have a higher starting price compared to the previous generation, reports mydrivers.
