Samsung DeX on the Galaxy S26 series will help you get work done faster and easier and without a laptop in virtually any place
Samsung smart devices have been offering i Samsung DeX functionality. It allows Galaxy phones and tablets to be connected to compatible devices and used as a whole new, let’s call it, Office device. Dex is especially intended for business users, those who travel often and who need to stay connected to company data at all times. Let’s say Galaxy S26 series with mobile Samsung Bluetooth tastaturom i DeX regimes can be used as a laptop. Not to suppress it completely, but to enable urgent work, until you get to the computer where you will continue the work.
The phone connects wirelessly (via Bluetooth) or with a cable to a free screen – for example, a monitor in the waiting room, a portable screen monitor or even a smart TV. DeX then displays the desktop interface on that external display, allowing you to run multiple applications in parallel, just like on a computer.

BenchmarkTo Samsung Bluetooth keyboard (or another) and possibly a wireless mouse, writing text and editing documents becomes faster and easier than on a phone screen and without the need for a laptop. Even without an external mouse, the Galaxy S26 phones can simulate a laptop working environment using your screen as a touchpadwhile the main interface appears on an additional screen. This is perfect for on-the-go situations.
And indeed, several times so far we published the news and edited the front page on the train on the Novi Sad-Belgrade route. It doesn’t matter what type of mobile keyboard you have, but it would be convenient, because of the already predefined shortcuts and special ones Galaxy AI capabilities directly from itto get a Samsung keyboard. We always have a light one in our backpack pocket, loaded and ready for action. Because news does not wait – news is published as it happens, hence the need for something like this.
How Samsung DeX works on the go
Samsung DeX is a built-in feature on the Galaxy S26 series that turns the phone into a virtual desktop computer. When you connect your phone to a larger screen—either wirelessly or via a cable—DeX launches a special user interface that supports multiple open windows and apps. For example, you can have Google documents open on the screen and view email on the phone at the same time. You don’t need a cable to connect wirelessly: The Galaxy S26 series supports Miracast, which means it can be connected to any Miracast-compatible monitor or Smart TV.
Turn on the TV or monitor, open on the phone Settings > Connected devices > Samsung DeX and you choose Connect wirelessly. The phone will find a supported device, and confirm the connection with the screen by pressing, after which the desktop mode will be activated.
If you do not have a Smart TV, it is also possible to use a “classic” connection – with a cable. Connect the S26 to any monitor or projector with a USB-C/HDMI cable (or adapter) – DeX will automatically launch when it detects an external display.
Get a keyboard, the phone screen becomes a mouse
For more comfortable work, it is necessary to add a keyboard and mouse. Pairing is, as expected, simple. Put the keyboard/mouse into pairing mode first. Then, on your phone, open Settings > Bluetooth and select them from the list. Of course, both the mouse and the keyboard must support the Bluetooth connection type without additional physical connections. Even after that, the Galaxy S26 will display cursors on the screen, and the keyboard will work like on a laptop.

BenchmarkBut, let’s repeat – if you don’t have an external mouse, you can use the S26 screen as a touchpad in the meantime.
If you have a Galaxy S26 Ultra, The S Pen can further expand functionalitybut they depend on the device you’re connected to. Be sure to consider that you can also perform certain controls with the S Pen.
Samsung emphasizes the difference between classic mirroring and DeX mode. Unlike classic screen mirroring, DeX treats the external monitor as an independent device. Let’s say you have two screens on your computer. For example, you can have a spreadsheet of documents open on one screen, while you’re on a video call or reading notes on your phone. This significantly increases productivity, because you do not have to limit work to only one place or one application.
Now take a look at how the Samsung DeX interface looks like when attached to a compatible monitor.

BenchmarkCommon office and collaboration tools are also supported – Google Workspace, Microsoft Officevideo-conferencing applications (Webex, Zoom), remote desktop and the like. With Samsung DeX, Galaxy S26 series it really becomes a mobile office, and it will be easier for you to use emails, create urgent reports, tables and presentations.
Additional options on the Galaxy S26 Ultra
When working in public places, it is especially convenient that business users can turn on the built-in Privacy Display na Galaxy S26 Ultra. This feature dims the screen for those viewing it from the side. So you can keep everything that the public should see on the external screen. Everything else on the phone screen. This makes the content visible only to you, which preserves the confidentiality of data while working on a train, coffee shop or airplane.
The Galaxy S26 series phones are equipped, as you already know, with custom Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets, which provide enough power for all of this. There are also models with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of memory, so large databases or video conferences are not an obstacle either. DeX additionally enables the use of the phone’s AI tools – for example, voice translators, smart note editing or automatic email writing.
See how the interface of the touchpad mouse and Samsung Bluetooth keyboard looks on the phone itself – interface, options and other possibilities:

Feel free to use i Circle to Search, Note Assist, Chat Assist, Live Translate and other AI options that will facilitate your correspondence and shorten the time required for work. All this on a larger screen looks like working with a real computer, except that all data and applications are on the phone – always at hand.
Scenario I: Urgent news from the train
It’s happened enough times, we’ve opened up the Bluetooth keyboard, actually unfolded it, connected it to the phone and started working. The website interface on the Galaxy S26 Ultra screen is cramped, although the screen is smaller than a laptop, but it can be done when the point is to publish the news immediately. Or enter a correction and refresh the front page. After all, we are journalists, that is what is expected of us.
BenchmarkIt is useful that the screen can be used both vertically and horizontally, so which option of the site is more convenient. It may sound banal now that you are reading this, but in practice it is not. The thing is, some side menus are easier to see in landscape mode or don’t work at all in portrait mode. Certainly, it is much easier to use the keys of the classic keyboard, than to obscure part of the screen even more with the virtual one. Also, Chrome Desktop mode is a great help in these situations.
After work, simply close the keyboard and that’s it. If you travel often and often encounter such business challenges – choose one that has a phone holder in it. Then it is much easier and more natural.
Scenario II: Mobile coworking in the office
Sometimes it’s easy to just bring your phone and emails, which are definitely already there. Of course, with a prior check that the client has a Miracast screen or TV. Once there, connect your Galaxy S26 Ultra or another S26 phone to that device. The phone pairs wirelessly with the TV and displays desktop applications on the big screen. E-mails and presentations are visible there, and you have an independent display, on the phone screen, available only to you. The advantage is that the screens work simultaneously, which enables DeX mode, so you can show everything you want colleagues to see on the TV or monitor screen, and take notes on your phone or use another application.
In this way, you can quickly prepare everything you need without a laptop, which you practically don’t need anymore for a quick and practical presentation. This is a common situation in business environments and we believe it will be helpful to many. Because who doesn’t like less burden and more freedom?!
Business scenario: Unplanned presentation
Imagine that you are on a business trip and you are waiting for a meeting with your partners, but somehow you forgot your laptop in the rush. Simply, it happens… But, no big deal – there is almost always a smart TV in the conference room. Simply connect the Galaxy S26 to the TV via wireless DeX, wait for the phone to connect and tap Start now and accept the connection to the TV.
BenchmarkYou immediately get a multi-window interface on a large screen. The presentation, report or table will be clearly visible to everyone present, while you use the keyboard and mouse to update or comment on the content.
Cases like this happen to professionals every day. Whether you’re in a client’s office, a hotel or even in a car with a large infotainment system, the Galaxy S26 and DeX turn it into your workstation.
Samsung DeX mode makes it easier to organize tasks while you’re on the go, as the phone enables new workplace flexibility. With the Galaxy S26 series and Samsung DeX, business users get a real pocket computer. It is always able to respond to requests quickly and almost stress-free, wherever you are.
