spotted Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8

Within the One UI system of codes and markings, the first concrete traces of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 phone, whose internal model is designated as SM-F776U, have been discovered. Such discoveries traditionally indicate that the development of the device is at an advanced stage and that the moment of launch is fast approaching.

According to available information, Samsung is simultaneously working intensively on a new version of the One UI 9 user environment. As in previous years, the small foldable flagship should be unveiled during the summer event and arrive with a system based on the Android 16 version.

Galaxy Z Flip8 and Exynos 2600 bring the 2nm era to flip phones

The biggest innovation is hidden in the hardware. The Galaxy Z Flip8 will reportedly use Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chip for the first time. It is the first Samsung mobile processor produced in the 2 nm production process, which makes this model the first flip phone on the market with a 2 nm chip.

Data from the GeekBench platform indicates that the Exynos 2600 uses a 10-core CPU layout. The processor consists of one C1-Ultra core with a working clock of up to 3.8 GHz, three C1-Pro cores at 3.25 GHz and six C1-Pro cores at 2.75 GHz. The new Xclipse 960 GPU is in charge of graphics, while support for LPDDR5X memory is default.

Compared to the previous Exynos 2500 chip, the new model brings a significant leap in performance. The CPU part is faster by about 39 percent, the GPU can be up to 50 percent more powerful, while the biggest progress was made on the NPU side, where performance growth of as much as 113 percent is mentioned. This indicates significantly better support for local AI functions and data processing on the device itself.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 should appear alongside the larger Galaxy Z Fold8 model. By introducing its own 2 nm chip, Samsung clearly shows that it wants to further strengthen its position in the flip phone segment, especially when it comes to the relationship between performance and power consumption.
