Although the device is a few millimeters thicker than the thinnest models of the competition, Huawei decided not to compromise when it comes to battery autonomy. It is the battery life that is one of the key factors for the user experience, as it enables long-term operation without the constant need for a charger.
Manufacturers like Samsung and Apple offer extremely powerful flagship phones, but battery autonomy often remains limited due to the thin design of the device.
For example, the iPhone 17 Air uses a 3149 mAh battery, while the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has a 3900 mAh battery. With very thin models, manufacturers often have to reduce the space for the battery in order to achieve the thinnest profile of the device.

Huawei Mate 70 Air uses an ultra-thin battery with a capacity of 6500 mAh with a silicon-carbon anode, which enables a significantly higher energy density compared to classic lithium-ion batteries.
In addition to the large capacity, the phone also supports 66 W fast charging using a cable that allows for quick battery charging without interrupting playing games or watching video content.
In this way, Huawei is trying to show that it is possible to keep a relatively thin phone design, and at the same time offer a battery with a significantly larger capacity than many competing flagship models.
