Toyota Gazoo Racing पर्बियो GR Yaris Morizo RR

Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) announced a special edition of the GR Yaris called Morizo RR and presented a prototype that is still under development at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026. The GR Yaris Morizo RR special edition was created in collaboration with the president of Toyota Motor Corporation and chief test driver Akio Toyoda, known as Morizo. It uses the knowledge gained through the Toyota Gazoo Rookie Racing (TGRR) team’s competition at the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Namely, for last year’s race at the Nürburgring, TGR, whose main mission is to create better and better cars derived from motorsports, joined forces with Rookie Racing, a team that refines GR vehicles. Under Moriz’s leadership, they crossed organizational boundaries and joined together in TGRR, with the aim of further accelerating the development of better and better cars.

Morizo drove the #109 GR Yaris, owned by TGRR, equipped with a Gazoo Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT). Despite the demanding nature of the Nürburgring, he completed more laps than planned. After the successful completion of the race, Morizo praised the GR Yaris and the eight-speed automatic transmission, thanks to which he was able to complete 15 laps.

In line with that success, the GR Yaris Morizo RR was named after Morizo and Rookie Racing. It is special because of the exceptional connection between driver and vehicle, developed at the Nürburgring. It improves driver interaction and confidence and makes car enthusiasts smile and want to keep driving.

The GR Yaris Morizo RR will be limited to 100 units in selected European markets and 100 units in Japan. The start of sales is planned for spring 2026.

Suspension perfected at the Nürburgring

Thanks to the strong downforce generated by the new rear spoiler and rear wing, the suspension setting has been optimized to achieve damping forces that allow the tires to maintain good contact with the ground, even on uneven surfaces such as those on the Nürburgring. The result is performance that enables relaxed everyday driving while maintaining sporting capabilities. The management of the electric power steering system (EPS) has been adjusted accordingly.

There is also a new four-wheel drive control system developed together with Moriz. The Morizo mode replaces the Gravel mode on the original vehicle. It sets the initial torque and power distribution to the front/rear axle in a ratio of 50:50.

The aforementioned carbon fiber rear spoiler was developed through TGRR’s participation in the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Other exterior enhancements include a front spoiler, side skirts and a carbon fiber bonnet. The exterior color is Gravel Khaki, which is Moriz’s favorite. The Piano Black finish creates a sleek, sharp and visually lower front fascia, while matte bronze rims complete the look.

Brake calipers and seams in the interior are made in Moriz’s distinctive yellow color. The alcantara-wrapped steering wheel is also a special feature. It got a slightly smaller rim diameter, as well as refined shift levers and switches on the steering wheel for better controllability in sports driving. The switches are arranged separately, based on experience gained with the GR Yaris Rally2 rally car. The interior is additionally decorated with an exclusive plaque with the serial number and the Morizo RR logo.
