As announced last year, the first CoD film in the franchise’s 23 years of existence will be distributed by Paramount. The directorial baton was taken by Peter Berg, who is working on the script with Taylor Sheridan. The duo is known for the Yellowstone series, while Sheridan was the screenwriter of the award-winning Sicario films.
“I said we’ll only make a Call of Duty movie if it makes sense. We want to capture authenticity on a human level, so the movie feels real, and mix that with an epic scale.” – said the producer of the CoD series, Rob Kostich.
It is still not known if Call of Duty in the film version will have an original story or if it will be “inspired” by Modern Warfare or Black Ops games.
