Check out the first official trailer for NBC’s Peacock upcoming streaming series “MacGruber,” which serves as the long-awaited sequel to the cult 2010 action comedy.
MacGruber is back! And he is ready to answer Uncle Sam’s call once more.
MacGruber star / creator Will Forte is joined by Kristen Wiig and Ryan Phillippe in this new action-comedy series for Peacock, set a decade after the events in the original SNL parody film MacGyver.
MacGruber (Forte) appears to have rotted in prison for nearly ten years until he was called into action for a secret government-led suicide mission. MacGruber reunites with his faithful partner and former love interest Vicki St. Elmo (Wiig). They also reunite with Lieutenant Dixon Piper (Phillippe) for the mission.
The cast also includes Sam Elliott, Laurence Fishburne, Billy Zane, Joseph Lee Anderson and Timothy V. Murphy.
Comedian Jorma Taccone, who directed the 2010 film, also returned as a director, writer and executive producer, working alongside screenwriting producers Will Forte and John Solomon.

After rotting in jail for more than a decade, American ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber has finally been released. His mission: to destroy a mysterious villain from his past – Brigadier Enos Queeth.
