DENZA is expanding to the global market, the first models are the shooting brake Z9GT and the minivan D9 DMi

The automobile brand under the umbrella of BYD, DENZA, has announced that it will go beyond the borders of China to the global market. The event, held at the Garnier Palace in Paris, served as the brand’s premiere for the European electric mobility market, with the launch of the new slogan “Technology that drives elegance” aimed at new energy vehicles (which stands for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids).

Stella Li, executive vice president of BYD, said on the occasion: “‘Technology that drives elegance’ is the slogan with which the DENZA brand redefines the concept of premium – where advanced technology fits seamlessly into everyday life and creates a cleaner, simpler and more enjoyable driving experience. Behind this philosophy stand as many as 120,000 BYD Group engineers who continuously push the boundaries of what is possible. We believe that the time has come for technology to inspire people around the world, and DENZA will further encourage.”

The brand is primarily characterized by technological solutions such as fast charging and independent control of the rear wheels with two electric motors, which has a positive effect on the controllability and maneuverability of the vehicle. DENZA comes to the global market with two models: DENZA Z9GT and DENZA D9.

Z9GT – shooting brake

The shooting brake Z9GT is available as an electric vehicle and as a Super Hybrid DM, and it combines the silhouette of a sports car with the practicality of a station wagon in terms of design and functionality. It is powered by three engines, which is the most technically advanced drive system of the DENZA brand. The Z9GT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and has an independent rear wheel control system that enables U-turns in narrow spaces and sideways movement.

The interior includes a 50″ augmented reality head-up display, a 17.3″ central multimedia system display and two additional 13.2″ displays for the dashboard and front passenger.

D9 – minivan

DENZA D9 DM-i is a minivan that can accommodate seven adults up to 180 cm tall, with luggage space for seven suitcases and business bags. The DMi powertrain includes four-wheel drive, 210 km range on electric drive and a total range of 950 km with a full battery and fuel tank.

Fast charging

The new models introduce FLASH Charging technology to the European market. The system is based on BYD’s Blade battery of the second generation and enables charging with a power of up to 1500 kW. Options include charging from 10 to 70% in 5 minutes, from 10 to 97% in 9 minutes, while at a temperature of -30°C charging from 20 to 97% is possible in 12 minutes. BYD plans to build 6,000 FLASH Charging charging stations outside of China in the next 12 months, of which 3,000 in Europe.
