In recent years, the AI browser market has experienced strong growth, with solutions such as ChatGPT Atlas, Perplexity Comet, and Microsoft Edge increasingly integrating generative artificial intelligence. Google is now taking it a step further. Instead of just further improving Chrome, the company introduced a completely new, AI-powered Internet browser called Disco, based on the Gemini 3 model, with the aim of changing the way users browse the Internet.
Disco as the main initial function brings GenTabs which was directly developed based on the Gemini 3 language model. Upon starting the browser, the user does not see a classic home page with tabs, but enters an interactive AI dialogue. In that window it is possible to enter requests such as planning a trip, buying a product or gathering information, after which the AI automatically searches the Internet and suggests relevant sources and links.
How Disco is changing the way you search the Internet
The AI dialog in the Disco browser is constantly present on the left side of the screen, while open web pages are displayed on the right side. Artificial intelligence does not only serve to search for information, but actively analyzes the content opened by the user and creates a customized interactive interface based on it. For example, when planning a trip, a complete route planner with weather forecast, tourist attractions and gastronomic offer can automatically appear, all combined in one place.
The user can change the requests at any time, and the AI adapts to new tasks and continues to help in their execution. This turns classic page browsing into a dynamic process of collaboration with artificial intelligence.
The head of the Google Chrome team, Parisa Tabriz, stated that Disco is not intended as a universal browser or as a replacement for Chrome. Instead, its goal is to offer users a tool that goes beyond classic multiple open tabs and becomes an application capable of personalized planning and execution of tasks.
Disco is currently in an experimental phase and is currently only available on macOS. Interested users can sign up for testing through the official Google site.
