The collaboration between Epic Games and Disney will result in three more games, one of which is an extraction shooter similar to ARC Raiders.
Epic Games has an idea for its next imitation – ARC Raiders, but instead of raiders we have… characters from Disney franchises!
According to a Bloomberg report, a new game that Epic Games is preparing as part of Disney’s investment of 1.5 billion dollars, obtained in 2024, should be launched in the 11th month of this year. It is said to be extraction shooter with Disney charactersand already according to internal assessments, concerns have been expressed that the mechanics of the game are not original enough… which means that they are DEFINITELY not original enough.
However, it is nothing new that Epic Games subsequently tries to insert itself into popular trends. Let’s just remember the fact that Fortnite Battle Royale came as an “imitation” of PUBG. They were successful with that at Epic, but all imitations after that were largely unsuccessful. For example, Fortnite Ballistic tried to imitate tactical shooting in the style of Rainbow Six Siege, so the interest of the audience was such that they ultimately decided to shut it down.
Now that there are already a bunch of extraction shooters on the market such as ARC Raiders, Marathon, Espace from Tarkov and others, it is quite hard to believe that Epic Games can break through to another success in a saturated market. However, we had similar doubts about the heroic shooter Marvel’s Rivals, and today it is one of the most popular games in its genre.
