Fable revealed all the most important details and promised a release in the fall of 2026.

Playground Games announced that theirs Fable arrives in the fall of 2026. for PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5. There is no specific date yet, but after more than six years of development, we finally got a concrete insight into the game itself and what we can expect from it. The most important information is as follows:

• Fable will be An open world RPGin which there will be no loading between regions and players will have the freedom to move wherever they want
• the game will have one major city, Bowerstone, a number of smaller settlements and natural landscapes such as forests, meadows, mountains, etc.
• we will in the game create your own character and we will be able to choose his gender, appearance, etc.
• players will assume the role of a hero whose village is destroyed by a stranger and his grandmother turned to stone

• in the game, we will be able to choose between the use of close and long-range weapons, and magic, and the enemies will scale according to the player’s level
• there will be a reputation system depending on how we behave in the game, but there will not be a classic division into good or bad, but different characters will react differently when word gets out about our reputation
• in the game there will be more than 1000 specific characters with defined roles, personalities and routines, and each of them will have their own opinion about the player, depending on their reputation or their influence on their existence
• as in previous Fable games, we will be able to buy real estate, rent it, get married and have children, we will be able to steal things, etc.
• the game will use British humor, specifically inspired by the British series The Office, from which the mockumentary style is taken, i.e. conversations with the characters as if they were talking to the camera, not the game’s protagonist
• the control scheme is very reminiscent of Hogwarts Legacy
