Gemini and Veo drop you directly into the video

YouTube is introducing a new AI feature called “Reimagine” within the Shorts format, further expanding the capabilities of the Remix tool. The new option uses the Gemini and Veo combination to enable the transformation of individual frames into completely new video sequences.

The “Reimagine” feature allows users to select one frame from a Shorts video and then completely change it with the help of artificial intelligence. After selecting the frame, the user can choose the offered ideas or enter his own description of how he wants the scene to look.

AI changes the frame to a completely new scene

The key thing is the ability to add your own photos. The system then generates a new video where the user can become part of the scene. For example, to “get into” a situation like skydiving or driving a racing car.

The result is a short video clip lasting about eight seconds, generated using the Veo model, with support for up to two reference images.

YouTube continues to aggressively integrate AI into the Shorts ecosystem. Previously, tools like “Photo to Video” and AI sticker generator were introduced, and “Reimagine” represents the next step – moving from passive viewing to active content creation.

It is important to note that each generated video will automatically contain a link to the original clip, thus maintaining transparency and connection to the source.

YouTube clearly emphasizes that the goal is not to produce mass, low-quality AI content, but to empower users’ creativity through new tools.

With this move, Shorts becomes an even more powerful platform for quick and interactive content creation, where the border between viewers and creators practically disappears, reports Android Central.
