Earlier this week, an interesting partnership was forged between Remedy Entertainment and Tencent, which should result in a new big project, a free co-op shooter called Vanguard.
Namely, this ambitious project of the Finnish studio, which has hits such as Max Payne, Alan Wake or Control in development, is in development for PCs and consoles (probably PS5 and Xbox Series X / S). This is Remedy’s first live service title, which will be released and distributed on the Asian market by the aforementioned Chinese giant, which is also working on a mobile version of the game. Vanguard, on the other hand, will appear in the West solely under Remedy’s auspices.

As we find out, Vanguard is Remedy’s new IP, which in a special way should merge the recognizable narrative structure of this studio with elements of a co-op PVE shooter. The game will be launched by Unreal Engine, although on this occasion it is not specified whether it is Unreal Engine 4 or the new fifth edition of this launcher.
This project is still in its early stages of development, so it will most likely be some time before we learn anything new about it. Meanwhile, we remind you that Remedy is quite busy with the development of Alan Wake II as well as the finalization of the Xbox exclusive CrossfireX, which should be released in early February.
