Robotaxis are coming in the spring 2026. It will be fun,” he wrote Mate Rimac at the end of the week on his Facebook with the publication of a short animated (as it seems AI generated) video and a commemorative song announcing the launch of the Verne project. In the video, recognizable scenes of the streets are shown, along with all other regular occurrences such as trams, cars and passers-by, where Verne’s blue robot taxis slide.
Everything is accompanied by a Christmas intoned song about “driverless vehicles”, punctuated here and there by the intrusions of “ordinary people” who comment on this phenomenon with the words “In this chaos, the only thing missing was robotaxis”, “Crazy world!” and similar phrases, while the others ride in Verne’s vehicles during that time. “Not in San Francisco, not in LA…” continues the song, stating that “somewhere in Europe” the “Verne show” will be launched in the spring of 2026.
“Enjoy or ignore”, is one of the messages from the film – but we certainly will not ignore the appearance of robotaxis on the roads. Below are a few screenshots from the video, and you can watch the whole thing here.
