The Qualcomm Snapdragon X series has already made room for ARM laptops in the Windows world, but for many users those models are still not affordable enough. That’s why Snapdragon C arrives, a new entry-level Windows on ARM platform for laptops in the $300 and up price range.
Snapdragon C is designed as a processor for affordable laptops that should offer fast system response, quieter operation, lower temperatures and all-day autonomy. With this platform, Qualcomm is obviously targeting a segment in which the Apple MacBook Neo is now being mentioned more and more often, but also the new Intel Core 3 processors known as Wildcat Lake, as well as the AMD Ryzen AI 400 series.
Snapdragon C takes aim at low-cost AI laptops
For now, there aren’t many concrete technical details about the Snapdragon C platform. Qualcomm confirmed that the chip has an integrated NPU, which means that even cheaper Windows laptops will be able to offer basic AI capabilities. That’s important because AI features are increasingly trickling down from the premium class to more affordable models.
The first laptops with the Snapdragon C platform should arrive later this year. Acer, HP and Lenovo are mentioned among the partners, which shows that Qualcomm is not only targeting experimental models, but a wider range of major manufacturers.

Acer has already announced the Aspire Go 15 with this platform, but has not yet revealed the exact specifications of the Snapdragon C chip or the final price of the device. This laptop is known to have 8GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, a 15-inch 1080p screen, a 1080p camera, a 53 Wh battery, HDMI and USB-C ports, Windows 11 Home and a special Copilot button.
Such a configuration clearly shows what Qualcomm and partners are trying to achieve. The goal is not the most powerful laptop computer, but a cheap, quiet and economical device for daily work, school, office and basic AI functions. This is where the space opens up for a direct collision with the MacBook Neo model, which forced the PC industry to think more seriously about better quality computers in a lower price class.
Snapdragon C laptops could thus become an important Windows ecosystem answer to Apple’s affordable MacBook, but only if they stay close to the starting price of around $300. However, the real test will not be only the price, but the quality of the screen, keyboard, autonomy and overall feeling of operation, Qualcomm announces.
