The creators of It Takes Two say they are “cooking up” something new

Hazelight Studios has released a cryptic image from the set of the cast for their next game. Three actors are shown, which can also mean three-player multiplayer…

Development studio Hazelight he started working on his next game after completing Split Fiction. We don’t know exactly what kind of game they’re preparing yet, other than the fact that it won’t be a live service title. However, we may have gotten a small hint from director Josef Fares.

Namely, the above picture was published yesterday, which shows that it is being scanned for the game three actors. It is interesting that each of them had three fingers scanned (little finger, index finger and thumb).

It is possible that the developer is giving a clue as to what they will try in the next game. It sounds like the next co-op title could be three-player, which would be the first such case in Hazelight’s games (A Way Out, It Takes Two, Split Fiction) that have been designed for two players so far.

The potential performance in a three-member co-op raises the issue of split screen, i.e. would the game in that case ditch that concept or somehow try to keep it for local multiplayer. However, it is worth noting that there are co-op games for three players that are also played locally (eg the Trine series), but mostly without split-screen.
