The famous German manufacturer of cameras and optics, Leica, in cooperation with the company Xiaomi, presented the Leica Leitzphone phone, developed in cooperation with the well-known optics manufacturer Leica. The new model bears the recognizable Leica “red sign”, and the design and control method are inspired by professional cameras.
The Leica Leitzphone takes design elements from the professional M series cameras. Around the camera module there is a special “Master Zoom Ring” with a mechanical construction that can register a movement of only 0.03 mm. With the help of a vibration motor, it enables extremely accurate and smooth adjustment of the focal length, with the feeling of using a professional camera.
At the software level, Leica uses a special UI/UX interface, fonts and loading animations that maintain the visual identity of the Leica brand. The phone also comes with multiple premium Leica filters that enable a distinctive photographic style.

Leica phone donosi 200MP telephoto camera
Hardware-wise, the Leica Leitzphone is based on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra phone platform. The main camera uses a 50 MP 1-inch sensor called the Light Hunter 1050L, with LOFIC HDR technology that enables a wider dynamic range.

The biggest novelty is a 200-megapixel telephoto camera that supports continuous optical zoom in the range of 75 to 100 mm. Any focal length within that range represents true optical zoom without loss of image quality. By using digital cropping, it is possible to obtain photos equivalent to a focal length of 400 mm without losing quality. The optical system also carries the Leica APO certificate, which is used with top Leica lenses. In addition, the phone has an ultra-wide camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels.
The device uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and a 6000 mAh battery. It is available in one configuration with 16 GB of working memory and 1 TB of storage space. The phone is sold in limited quantities at a price of approximately 1,430 – 1,500 euros, reports LTN.
