One of the most famous desktop backgrounds in computer history is undoubtedly the Bliss image from the Windows XP operating system. The photo of green hills and blue sky has become globally recognizable, even among users who have never used Windows computers.
The wallpaper debuted more than two decades ago as a Windows XP wallpaper and quickly became an icon of digital culture. Over the following years, Microsoft moved away from that natural motif and moved to abstract visual styles in Windows Vista and Windows 7 systems.
With the Windows 10 system, the company from Redmond presented a unique wallpaper that is actually a photo, not a rendered image. With Windows 11, Microsoft continued with the abstract design through the recognizable Bloom wallpaper.
A combination of Bliss and Bloom wallpaper
A Reddit user named u/Left_Hovercraft451 posted an interesting interpretation that combines two of Windows’ most famous visual motifs.

On the new wallpaper themes, the green hills and blue sky from the Bliss photo transition into the abstract forms of the Bloom wallpaper from the Windows 11 system. The result is an unusual combination that retains the recognizable atmosphere of both operating systems.

Although the visual style seems to have been created with the help of artificial intelligence, the final result looks very interesting and original. The author published three variants of the background: dark, light and widescreen.
Users on Reddit have been asking the author to release the original files in full resolution for some time, which he finally did, reports Neowin.
