Toyota Yaris with Mid+ equipment package ready for 2026

The refresh of the fourth generation Toyota Yaris has been announced, which will be implemented for the 2026 model year, with which the Japanese brand wants to maintain the sales success of that model in Europe. Yaris, introduced back in 1999, in 2024 was the tenth best-selling vehicle on our continent with 174,000 units delivered. The focus of the upcoming changes is on quality, character and technological progress within the segment of compact city cars, according to Toyota.

The current offer continues to be based on the proven “dual-hybrid” approach that offers customers two choices of drive systems. While the Hybrid 115 ensures high environmental performance, the more powerful Hybrid 130 option brings more agile acceleration and a more dynamic driving experience. Both systems were developed on the TNGA GA-B platform, which stands out in terms of safety and space utilization in the compact class.

A special emphasis for 2026 was placed on the Mid+ equipment package, which is chosen by about 40% of Yaris buyers. This package is now further enhanced with a new visual identity and richer standard equipment. The refreshed exterior is decorated with new matte black 17″ aluminum rims, which replaced the previous 16″, with the addition of dark chrome nuts. In the interior, the seats got a sportier shape, better quality fabrics and additional gray stitching in three tones.

In addition to the aesthetic changes, the Mid+ package now includes a range of technologies for everyday practicality as standard equipment for the first time. This includes a smart entry system, push-button engine start, wireless charging of smartphones and ambient cabin lighting. In addition, a new gray body color called “Celestite Grey” is being introduced to the entire Yaris model range.

The upgraded Yaris continues to be produced in Europe, adapted to the needs of local drivers and different preferences, which includes the sporty GR SPORT variant. Orders for the upgraded Toyota Yaris range will open across Europe during the first quarter of 2026.
