What the Galaxy S26 brings as the next step of evolution

Samsung presented a new one at the Galaxy Unpacked event held in San Francisco on February 25 Galaxy S26 seriesand the focus of this generation is not just increasing performance, but changing the way the phone uses artificial intelligence. Instead of AI functions that the user has to actively trigger, Galaxy S26 it tries to do most tasks automatically through the context, habits and content already on the device.

Samsung S26, S26+ i S26 Ultra thus they bring a combination of agent AI approach, improved camera and new privacy solutions, with hardware optimized for constantly active AI processes.

AI that reduces the number of steps

The biggest change in the operation of the Galaxy S26 series is the transition from “AI tools” to an AI system that connects applications.

Now more proactive and personalized, the Now Brief feature on the Galaxy S26 series uses the user’s personal context to display timely information and reminders throughout the day. Based on schedules and relevant activities, it brings users updates on important events, from upcoming meetings and bookings to travel information, helping them stay organized without having to manually search or check multiple apps.

Samsung goes a step further here by integrating multiple AI agents – Bixby, Google Gemini and Perplexity – that can perform multi-step tasks in the background. The idea is that the user does not choose a tool, but that the phone does part of the process itself, such as searching or starting a service, with minimal interaction.

Privacy as part of the screen: Privacy Display

One of the biggest differentiations of the Ultra model is Privacy Displayan integrated solution that limits the visibility of content from side viewing angles.

Unlike classic private foils, the solution is part of the screen itself and can be activated automatically when entering a password or opening certain applications. Different levels of protection are available, from hiding notifications to maximum display discretion.

Additional security layers include AI Call Screening, Privacy Alerts, Private Album and extended Knox protection, with an announced seven years of security updates

Circle to Search now recognizes multiple objects at once

The advanced version of Circle to Search with Google allows the analysis of multiple elements in one image during one search. This means that the user can simultaneously identify several objects: for example, different pieces of clothing or objects in the space without repeating the process.

In practice, this speeds up visual search and reduces the need for screenshots and switching between apps.

Camera: focus on video and content processing

The Galaxy S26 Ultra brings several specific improvements to the camera:

  • wider aperture for better low-light performance
  • enhanced Nightography Video
  • improved Super Steady with horizontal frame lock

The biggest novelty is support for the APV video codec, a first for a Galaxy device. APV enables more efficient compression with minimal quality loss, which is especially important for users who record and additionally process video content.

The AI editing tools have also been expanded, with the Photo Assist option now enabling edits via text commands, with step-by-step review and undo, while Creative Studio unifies visual generation and processing in one environment.

Performance tailored to always-on AI

The Galaxy S26 Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, with Samsung’s improvements:

  • up to 19% faster CPU
  • up to 39% more powerful NPU for AI processing
  • up to 24% stronger GPU

The new Vapor Chamber and improved heat distribution aim to maintain stable performance during gaming, video recording and multitasking.

In addition, the Galaxy S26 Ultra gets faster charging through Super-Fast Charging 3.0, which allows charging up to approximately 75% capacity in about 30 minutes with a compatible adapter.

The Galaxy S26 series shows that the next step in the evolution of smartphones is not just faster hardware, but a reduction in the number of actions that the user has to do himself. The integration of multiple AI agents, more advanced video tools and a hardware approach to privacy set this generation apart, where the phone becomes an active digital assistant, not just a device waiting for a command.
