You can’t go against the power of nature: the caravan remained hanging from the fence of the Krk bridge

In the afternoon hours of this Wednesday, April 1, an unusual and extremely dangerous scene was recorded on the Krk bridge. The van driver, who was towing a caravan, decided to cross the bridge despite the strict ban on traffic for the first and second groups of vehicles. At that moment, restrictions were in force for double-decker buses, motorcycles and vehicles with trailers and covered cargo spaces, and the driver pulling this camper trailer may have thought that the ban was an April Fool’s joke…

Dramatic scenes

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m., the Bodulija.net portal writes, when a strong storm was blowing there with gusts that exceeded the speed of 140 km/h. Under the force of the wind, the caravan overturned, but thanks to the protective structure of the bridge, it remained hanging on the fence itself, thus preventing it from falling into the abyss. The dramatic scenes were recorded by passing drivers, and we present their footage below.

This is another reminder that traffic bans during windstorms are put in place for a reason, precisely to prevent these scenarios. Vehicles with a large side surface, such as caravans, are extremely vulnerable to side gusts of wind that can easily knock them off course or, as in this case, overturn.
