2023 Nissan GT-R R36 Hybrid? Release Date

Earlier this month, Nissan unveiled the GT-R T-Spec, which could potentially be the “final salute” to the timeless “Godzilla” in the R35 edition.

We have to wait and see if there will be true rumors that the current generation could get a slightly hybrid setup, and even a Final Edition before it finally retires. This begs the question “what comes next”? Well, R36 of course.

According to Hot Tires, in a media material released by Nissan Australia regarding the GT-R (2022), the director of this regional division, Adam Paterson, confirmed that the performance Japanese car will be retired in November because it is no longer in line with regulations related to side impact protection. However, that doesn’t mean the end of the story for the GT-R for Australia. While his statement may suggest that the 2023 Nissan GT-R R36 could be updated to comply with stricter standards, Paterson nevertheless mentioned that the GT-R for 2022 will mark the closing of the current generation chapter. He also talked about T-Spec and Nismo SV special editions, as the latest offer of the current model in the land of kangaroos.

2023 Nissan GT-R R36 Release Date

Although this is not an official confirmation of the arrival of the R36 model. The question we all have in mind is “when will Nissan introduce the new GT-R?”. There is also speculation about how “new” the next generation will be, because some reports suggest that it will be based on an improved version of the current platform, which is a strategy used by the Japanese carmaker in the case of other sports models, such as Z for 2023. I think Nissan is planning to release the new GT-R sometime in early 2023

2023 Nissan GT-R R36 Specs

Is the slightly hybrid setup actually intended for the R36, which will supposedly keep the 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbo, but in this case more environmentally friendly? We are certainly still a couple of years away from the newcomer because logic dictates that we should see the concept first, just as Z Proto was recent.

Let us remind you, the R35 entered the scene in 2007, which means that it is already 14 years old, and it came after the GT-R (2001) and GT-R Proto (2005) concepts

Price

it is too early to speculate the cost of the 2023 Nissan GT-R R36 but it is gonna be pricy.
