Company GoPro presented the GoPro Mission 1 series of cameras, which brings a significant step forward compared to previous models. The focus is on advanced video capabilities and professional use. The new line includes three models – Mission 1, Mission 1 Pro i Mission 1 Pro ILS – and all use a large 1-inch 50-megapixel sensor, as well as a new GP3 chipset that handles image processing and performance.
One of the key novelties is support for 8K video recording. More advanced models allow recording up to 8K at 60 fps, as well as extremely slow-motion recordings up to 960 fps in 1080p resolution. In addition, the cameras support the so-called open gate recordingwhich uses the entire sensor and more flexible content framing for different formats.
Higher image quality and interchangeable lenses
The Mission 1 series also brings improvements in image quality, including better performance in low-light conditions and a dynamic range of up to 14 feet, which is the result of a combination of a larger sensor and a new processor.

GoProThe most advanced model, the Mission 1 Pro ILS, goes a step further and introduces support for interchangeable lenses, compatible with the Micro Four Thirds system. With this, GoPro enters the segment of modular cameras for the first time, closer to classic mirrorless systems.
The GoPro Mission 1 series has support for 10-bit video, HDR, high bitrates up to 240 Mbps, as well as enhanced audio recording with 32-bit float recording.

Although it retains its recognizable robustness and compactness, the GoPro Mission 1 series targets the widest audience. From ordinary users, through content creators, to professional videographers. This is also a clear turn of the GoPro company towards a higher segment of the market, which has not been represented so far.
The exact date of availability and prices have not yet been officially confirmed, but it is expected the first models arrive during May. A more advanced version with interchangeable lenses will hit the market later in the year, explains GSMArena.
