Control: Resonant turns everything upside down – it becomes an RPG and moves to the streets of New York City

Remedy has announced Control: Resonant – the sequel to the 2019 sci-fi action game that feels more like a stand-alone thing than Control 2. It has a new character, a new setting, and – a new genre.

Control: Resonant is a sequel to 2019’s Control, but it’s not a “safe sequel,” says Remedy. As soon as you see the game, it will become clear to you why.

In short, this is a game with a new character, a changed structure and even a different genre. While the first Control was a third-person shooter that took place in closed spaces, Control: Resonance will be an action RPG in which we will thrash enemies around Manhattan.

The game will take place after the events of the original Control, and this time he will be in the main role Dylan threadthe brother of the protagonist of the first part. Dylan wakes up in a world where a mysterious cosmic force has taken over and perverted the center of New York City. In order to confront supernatural opponents, Dylan uses a weapon called Aberrant, which, in the tradition of Control, changes shapes, but is not a long-range but a melee weapon for close combat.

Control: Resonant will be open type gamebut not open world. We will have more freedom to explore than in the first game, but the map will have clear boundaries. We will explore different areas of Manhattan where buildings have been turned upside down to defy gravity. If you’re looking for some kind of comparison, Control: Resonant resembles a combination of the movie Inception and the old game Prototype.
